7 Mile Runs
>> Saturday, December 13, 2008
I woke up this morning to a BEAUTIFUL 30 degree day! So I busted out a nice 7 mile run in my YakTrax. Here’s how a few 7 milers stack up over the last 2 months:
Date / 1st Half / 2nd Half / Total / Pace
10/23, 24:04 + 22:29 = 46:33 (6:39)
11/06, 23:59 + 22:18 = 46:17 (6:36)
11/25, 24:00 + 21:09 = 45:09 (6:27)
12/13, 24:08 + 22:21 = 46:29 (6:38)
(all with sweet negative splits and VERY consistent first halves - within 9 seconds)
This last one may have been a little slower because I was in my YakTrax and because I tried a new workout 2 days ago that made my butt pretty sore (more on that in my next post). Or maybe it was a little slower because my feet were being destroyed:

Dude great wonderful negative splits!!!
But, what is up with your foot/feet/toes???? Looks painful!!! What happened???
I ran 4 today slow!!!
Have a great weekend!!!
hey! i have a blood blister on the side of the ball of my foot too! hmmmm. great splits though. I gotta get a set of those Yak Trax too...
OUCH! So gross yet so you ;-)
Yay! Blister photos are back! It has been a while old friends!
I can't even comment on your 7 mile times. I am not worthy. I hope you have a great party!
Steve, no worries, Yak Trax will always slow yo down. You were probably working just as hard or harder with those on your shoes. Also, they tend to crimp and cause abrasion resulting in...well...abrasions like those in your photo.
Which half are you doing? My wife will be doing her first in May at Lake Mtka.
Gross! :)
Ouch! I get really bad blisters too...I should say "used to" b/c I found the wonders of duct tape! I now tape all ten toes and the sides of my feet before heading out for anything longer than 5 miles.
ewwwwwwwwwwww
why are your feet so badly blistered?
way to not let blisters beat you!
I salute your superior speed sir :) Those are nice times.
Interesting two tone effect on your feet. Which colour hurts more?
Great job on your splits! That's really awesome.
I was eating a pomegranate when I saw the photo of your foot. It made it taste really weird. :)
Good luck on your training!
It's "warm" here too... but I wouldn't call it beautiful. I'd rather spend my afternoon holed up in a windowless room at work. Yay!
30 degrees is "beautiful"? Ah, crap. I'm gonna freeze to death in MN.
do i live in a bubble? what are yax trax? or whatever it is. i dont want them if they are going to make my feet look like they went through a meat grinder! you are a speed racer, great splits!
Ewwww!!! Eww!!!
look at you hosting a shin dig! and yes. Ill be back monday for deets.
are you gonna share your program with us the great unwashed blogreading masses??
okay those times put me to shame! i had to look up yaktrax - thought it was an exercise thing - ha! what a great idea
Gald I'm not the only one to post nasty feet pix! Ha! That looks painful...you need a pedicure, btw:)
oh I bet it hurts so good. :)
Gross!
Hey, what half-marys are you doing? I have been trying to find some in this area that happen before April, since I have to be on a boat for all of April and will probably lose any running fitness I have now!
Just when I was starting to think that Steve hadn't posted a gross foot shot in a long while, you deliver. Thanks, I got my fix. Also, loved the line "Now if you'll excuse, I have a holiday party that won't host itself." LOL at that one.
It was almost 50 here in Nebraska yesterday, and I didn't know what to do with myself. Long run in shorts? Yes please!
Take care of those feet.
Nice job on the runs. Take ecare of your foot. Hope the holiday party was a fun one.
wow-that's fast running for this time of year.
I'm off to Kerry's parent's house for a Christmas celebration Tuesday night. Sqeezing it all in before we head back to AZ on Saturday. Have fun at the DOME. Great idea BTW.
PS-Are you on Facebook? I need to remove comments from my blog... but lucikly most of my blogger buddies are also there.
gross!!!
Those are some very consistent times for your 7-mile runs. Great job. Go enjoy your party.
OUCH! I hope your feet feel better soon!
great runs (as usual!)
my (non runner, non tri) husband saw your foot. "sweet."

Dude your splits make my ass look fat.
