Welcome to “PR City.” I’m Steve, Your Mayor.
>> Sunday, February 15, 2009
I just got back from the “Lace Up Against Breast Cancer Half-Marathon” in Rochester, MN, and I brought a PR with me. After the finish, they announced that the course was more like 13.4 miles! So I PRed even though I had to go 0.3 miles too far!!
Here I am about 2 minutes after finishing:
Back with a full report (and pictures) tomorrow...

Yep, what Melanie and Graham said!!!
Knew you would PR my friend!!! Can't wait to read your race report, snot included!!!!

Congrats Steve! Look forward to the full report and pics!
Good job!
a PR on a too-long course?! that's bad ass, steve, just totally BAD. ASS.
Wahoo!! PR on an extra long half marathon course! Way to go!!
Congrats!!!
Hey, I voted for you! Good job, Mr. Mayor! :-)
Good job!
And you are gross.
SWEET JOB!!
Dayum son, you needed to blow that snot all over another runner. Not yourself :P
That's fantastic!
A triumph! You look barely even winded, like you just got back from a little post prandial stroll.
I like you REAL, and so do all BLOGGERS OF TASTE, I'm sure.
Speaking of REAL....
It's time for a GROSS FOOT PHOTO....
Just to prove you really went, right? (You must have some really "tasty" fresh blisters!)
Congrats! That is awesome! Yeah snot :)
Kudos...can't wait for the race report and pics!
This was a roller coaster of emotions for me reading this. It started with "Yeah!! Good for him" - followed quickly with "SICK!!! I didn't need to know about that"
YAY! Way to go... can't wait for the report and pictures (hopefully some without snot, but we understand if that's not possible!)
Nice work!! So, what are they going to do about the extra distance? Was it an official race?
I remember 4 or 5 years ago, there was a quick loop in the KC Marathon that was left off because of a gate closed. Turned out the marathon was only 25.8 miles or something... They had this crazy formula for people trying to qualify for boston. I would have been PISSED.
WAHOO! Congratulations, especially with the extended course! (what's up with that anyway?!)
Wouldn't even have noticed the SNOT had you not pointed it out! Thanks.
congrats on the pr! thanks for pointing out the snot... don't know how i would've survived without that morsel of information.
Awesome job on the PR!!! Looking forward to the report.
way to go!
Looks WARM unlike other races we've seen you at!! Congrats on the PB!!!!
Way to go on the PR. Mustve been pretty warm since you dont look like the stevesicle
Congrats! That is awesome! Did I read this wrong or did you not post the time?
Congrats on the snotilicious PR :)
I shook my Magic 8 Ball and asked if you were going to get a PR and it answered back, "IT IS PROBABLE".
Congratulations and I will be looking for the race report tomorrow.
I'd vote for your over Mayor McCheese any day of the week.
CONGRATS!
Way to go Steve! Nice work on the PR (and the snottage)!!
Awesome job on the PR! Who out there doesn't have a little extra snot during the winter months...
Great job! PRs are always fun - and slightly painful. One piece of advice - do not become a food stylist. That pic of the chili looks disgusting (but I bet it tasted good.) I love the fact that you run as fast as you do with a gray cotton hoodie. Now, go relax a little bit.
Congrats on keeping up the gross factor.
