Second Bigger Bike Week in Jan!

>> Monday, January 31, 2022

About 2 weeks ago, I posted about a bigger week on the trainer. Well, I made last week big as well. Here's what it looked like:

(Trainer rides in purple.)

100 minutes on Tuesday is the longest trainer ride I've had in a few years. And 95 mins on Thursday is something I've only done once over the last few years (and that was 2 weeks ago).

• TUESDAY was 4x10 min efforts:

• THURSDAY was 9x3 min efforts (where I usually do 6-8):

• SATURDAY was supposed to maybe be my longest ride of the week, but I fell short on time a bit, and I did 6x5 min efforts:

And that all led to the biggest week on my trainer in years: 4 hours 45 mins (after having a big week of 4 hours 32 minutes two week ago). "Normal" weeks this winter have been about an hour shorter.

All of this is leading up to an upcoming bike-related event! More on that in the next few days.

Update On My Solo Exhibition

>> Saturday, January 29, 2022

I posted about my upcoming solo exhibition about 2.5 weeks ago. Here's a quick update.

I've been busy framing some larger pieces this week. Here's a finished 30x40" frame in our dining room:

I got a little beat up over those 3 days of framing - the glass sliced a little ways into one of my fingers:

Later in the day, it peeled off and was getting a little sore.

A glass cut from the day before on my forearm.

Those large pieces of glass always take SOOO much work to clean. The smaller pieces I reframed about 4 weeks ago could be taken care of in about 20 mins/frame. These largest 3 pieces took between 2-3 hours EACH to get set. I may not be good, but at least I'm slow... (wait... that's not how it's supposed to go...)

Here's another post showing another large piece that was framed recently, and here's a post from yesterday with the postcard design for the exhibtion.

And if you missed the post from a few weeks back, here are some older and related posts: first was announcing the solo show last month, then starting to frame some work a few weeks ago, and finally more images of Concordia's yearly mailer with 2 of my images in it.

Friday Funny 2035: Memes About the Packers Getting Beat

The Packers were the #1 seed in the NFC, but they lost last weekend and are now out. The reactions have been hilarious.

(And in case you don't know what some of these jokes are about, QB Aaron Rodgers first made it sound like he had been vaccinated [he didn't technically lie] in a press conference back in August, but it turns out he just got a homeopathic treatment and was considered unvaccinated when he contracted COVID. [Apparently he had an antibody test that showed no sign of anything like a vaccination.] Football analyst / announcer Boomer Esiason was getting reports that Rodgers was considering boycotting the Super Bowl and possibly the next season if the NFL didn't loosen COVID-related rules. There, I think that's about all you need to know to enjoy these upcoming jokes...)

(It was a slighly snowy game too...)

A "COVID toe" joke.

WAIT, I was at a Vikings game this year where they beat the Packers!!

A deep dive into politics for this joke.

Love this! (The kicker that won the game for SF.)

Now THAT was an entertaining game last weekend!!!
