Winter Carnival Fun

>> Thursday, February 15, 2018

Now that the St. Paul Winter Carnival (and the Super Bowl) is gone, I thought I’d quick share some photos from a night out that my family had. We never ventured into Minneapolis for any of the Super Bowl festivities, but we did head into downtown St. Paul a few weeks back to see some of the Winter Carnival.

In front of the 70’ ice castle in Rice Park.

The boys liked that people had stuck pennies all over the blocks of ice.

Then we went a half mile down the road to CHS Field (where the minor league baseball team The St. Paul Saints play ball). The Saints had build a snow tubing ramp from on top of their stadium down onto the field, and we wanted to give that a try. So we all bought tickets for the 7 pm hour (100 people are let out for 1 hour time slots) and made 4 runs down the chutes:

I think this was after our 2nd run.

The view from the top: notice the infield is protected with strings of Christmas lights.

Walking back up near home plate after another run (as the snow started).

The chute from the side.

A selfie with Charlie as we left the field for the last time.

Also, I posted a video of one of the runs on Instagram, so check that out here.
