Big Bike Week (Ending with a Fat Tire Race!)

>> Thursday, February 10, 2022

Here's what last week looked like:

Monday was my longest long run since November at 12.3 miles.

The rest of the week was unimpressive, until my first outdoor rides of the year on my borrowed fat bike. My brother-in-law Matt and I raced the City of Lakes 20K Fat Tire Loppet on Sunday.

That made the week come in with just over 4 hrs and 45 mins in the saddle, which was more than my 2 big weeks in January as I prepped for this race. In fact, it was my biggest week of saddle time since August of last year when I went on a ride with my boys (which was just over 5 hours, but over an hour of that was the easy ride with the boys). My last big week of "real" rides was my 100 mile week (also just over 5 hours) in August of 2020 which was just 3 nice long rides.

I'm taking everything easier this week: my long run was shorter, and my trainer time has just been easy so far. I kinda like post-race low-intensity weeks. :)
