I feel the same way about Colorado! I always say the seasons are summer, winter the prequel, winter, and winter the sequel.

Swap out your summer time and your winter time and you get NC's seasons. Summers are unbearably hot.

And that's why I don't want to move up there. I can't stand the cold.

Of course, I like to say we have four seasons here in Southern California, too. Summer, Santa Anna Winds, Coolish with a chance of rain, and Warming Up Again.

Thankfully, this year the fall in MO has been incredibly mild. I can't complain (much). Although we sometimes get those random "hopeful" days throughout the winter and they really get the kids thinking shorts are OK in the middle of winter!

Reverse winter and summer, swap March for October, and irrational happiness about warmth for irrational happiness about the first cold front of the season, and voila -- you have described south Texas weather.
