My 15 Seconds (and 5 Fingers) of Fame

Before the "pro dinner" a few days before the Life Time Fitness Minneapolis Triathlon, I found myself walking with super nice pro triathletes Rebeccah and Laurel Wassner. We were headed to their car to get their bikes for a quick "bike porn" photoshoot with Paul Phillips for Triathlete Magazine. (If you've gotten the new Triathlete Mag with Chrissie on the cover, that's a "Paul Phillips" photo. And when Macca won the IM World Championship a few months back, the cover photo of him at the finishline was also Paul's. LOTS of Triathlete Mags photos are from Paul.)

I kinda freaked out for a moment: The Wassner Sisters asked who I write for (basically asking why I was at the dinner), and I said I have a local "tri blog." They asked what it was called. I smiled and said "Steve in a Speedo."

THEY. HAD. BOTH. HEARD. OF. ME.

Shut the front door. They remembered tweeting with me over the past year! They know how to make a guy feel loved! :)

Anyway, my tri-buddy Nick and I were around while Paul was taking the photos, so Paul asked for our help. Nick first jumped in to hold a bike. Here he is "daintily" holding it up by the seat so that he could easily be Photoshopped out later:

EXCITING!! Many of these were the images that Nick and I were there for!! Yay us!

If you look at the second column from the right in that image above, you can see a photo of a bike in the second row, and a photo of 2 bikes in the third row.
