14 Days of Nothing: Day 14: Mother Nature Can "Suck It"

>> Thursday, December 10, 2009

I hate my life.

(I don't really hate my life. That was just for effect. I am pretty pissed-off, though. [OK, not really - it's still just for effect.])

Throughout these past "14 Days of Nothing," the weather has been great. Remember when I played with my cousins on Thanksgiving? That was 2 weeks ago. It was WARM and GREAT. As we played "FumbleROOski," we actually had to avoid muddy spots in the lawn:

Less than 48 hours ago, Mother Nature knew I was ready to quit my bout of nothingness, and she decided to piss me off. It started lightly snowing 2 days ago. When I opened my side door yesterday morning, I had a 14 inch drift telling me to stay in the house:

I'm not happy. I LOVE to run in cold weather, but running on uneven packed snow does a number on my feet. And we know my feet can't take much more abuse.

What horrible timing for our first big snowfall. I was about to start up again, and clean, clear sidewalks in December are a treat. But no such luck now.

After shoveling and snow-blowing for an hour yesterday, I let my feelings for Mother Nature show:

F@ck you, Mother Nature.

It's not nice to fool (with) Mother Nature...Remember the butter commercials?

TriGirl Kate O 7:17 AM, December 10, 2009

Trade you for a week! We have 40 degrees and not a snowflake in sight. I want some white stuff to get in the spirit of the season (and give me some excuses to miss workouts!)

There is a reason I live in Texas Steve. It is called heat. Our low this morning was 34* and not a flake in sight.

Bring Pharmie and you can come to my place and thaw out.

Morgan 7:56 AM, December 10, 2009

LMFAO!!!! I think this is my favorite post of your 14 days of nothing. :)

tri_al 8:02 AM, December 10, 2009

you can't fck with mother nature steve, you just won't win.

think of us poor sods in the UK, we have cold miserable constant grey weather which is not QUITE cold enough for snow. so we get the chill, but not the white stuff. that SUCKS.

the end.

HAHAHAHAH. For some reason this one made me laugh pretty hard. You know, sort of like America's Funniest Home videos when the dad gets hit in the crotch by the little kid's baseball bat.

Mother nature is the kid Steve, and she is batting the crap out of your giblets.

t-odd 8:47 AM, December 10, 2009

I am totally with you. I hate the weather right now. But I ran outside yesterday anyway.

Christi 8:48 AM, December 10, 2009

I feel your pain man! We have snow and frigid cold! I am not loving it at all!

Viper 9:09 AM, December 10, 2009

White crap from heaven, indeed! We got some of the poop last night. Not as much as you. Enjoy the snowy runs!

teacherwoman 9:35 AM, December 10, 2009

I hear you guys got hit pretty hard with snow. Glad it missed Fargo, for the most part!! :)

Waa Waa Wally Whiner

Go pull up your big boy underware and get out there.

Didn't I just read a post from someone saying they needed the change in seasons?

Watch your penis though.

Molly 10:00 AM, December 10, 2009

My 3 weeks of post-IM nothing end on Sunday and training starts back up next week. What's our forecast? Freezing rain and cold. Nice.

Coffee Run 10:39 AM, December 10, 2009

Life is far too short to live in a frozen wasteland such as that.

Mike Russell 11:06 AM, December 10, 2009

It is 0 degrees here this morning. No bike riding for me...I am in the same boat as you Steve. Cold sucks.

Borsch 3:02 PM, December 10, 2009

E-Speed 3:25 PM, December 10, 2009

we don't even have snow yet but the 40 mph gusting winds today really had me feeling the same way about mother nature.

Chic Runner 4:22 PM, December 10, 2009

Eeeeeks we all know my feelings on snow. Good luck out there and F u mother nature!!!

nwgdc 10:34 PM, December 10, 2009

Start trail running. It'll be much friendlier on the feet and VERY addicting...and if you continue to run (DAMN FAST) on the roads, you'll notice an improvement in times because of the trail time too!
Pharmie LOVED her first trail run at the Murph...you will too!

Aka Alice 11:43 PM, December 10, 2009

I never know what to say to you cold-weather peeps when you complain about the cold because I complain about my definition of cold...and you must think I'm such a wimp...It was in the upper 40's here today and I froze my ass off...

Don't hate me

Bummer about the snow

k 9:06 AM, December 11, 2009

The weather here is the same. It was really nice until a couple of days ago when BOOM- snow fell and the wind chills started. I have been extending that same finger to the weather as well.
Good luck!

sRod 1:13 PM, December 17, 2009

14 inches of snow already? Geez.

You must have been really pissed off because you busted out your mean face. When was the last time you used that?
