CamelBak Winner and Blog Anniversary

First things first... time to announce the winner of the CamelBak Ultra LR Vest from last week.

Yes, I'm sending the winner THIS actual vest that has been on my bare chest.
However, all the tags and "protective things" are still on, so it hasn't been "used."

There were 192 comments on the giveaway post, and there were 60 tweets about the contest on twitter. So the comments were number 1-192, and the tweets were numbered 193-252. Using random.org, I entered the variables 1-252 to find a winner.

IN UNRELATED NEWS...........

It was 6 years ago TODAY that I started this blog! I was training for my first triathlon: the 2006 LTF Triathlon in Minneapolis. (Check out that link for my FIRST ever triathlon race report if you're interested.)

So 6 years ago, I posted this as my first post:

My wife is a super athlete: She’s done the last 6 Twin Cities Marathons, 2 Olympic Distance Triathlons, countless road races, and she’s training for an Ironman Triathlon this fall (for those not in “the know,” an Ironman Tri is a 2.5 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run – insanity!). Somehow, I’ve been suckered partway into this craziness as well, and damn it, I’m actually enjoying it!

This blog will be my Captains Log that will contain little nuggets of information about the training and events that I am partaking in. There will be photos from events that show me at my sweatiest. There will be notes and stories from my training. It will be honest, funny, gut wrenching and hopeful. But one thing is for certain: it will always be real – that’s me, keeping things real. 24/7/365.

UPDATES / THOUGHTS ON THAT FIRST POST:

1. Now my wife has done the last 12 straight Twin Cities Marathons, including 1 pregnant and 1 sixteen weeks postpartum.

2. Apparently, I wasn't "in the know" about Ironman Triathlons. It's a 2.4 not a 2.5 mile swim. Sheesh. Oops.

3. I feel like I'm still blogging very "real." I think that's why many of you keep stopping by. I don't sugar-coat anything, and I share most everything with you all.
