June's Training in Review: Decent (for Being Busy)
>> Wednesday, July 08, 2026
Here's a quick look at June's training in reivew:
• SWIM: 8,800 yards (first swims in 10 months!)
• BIKE: 256.24 miles
• RUN: 105.41 miles
• STRENGTH: 51 hours and 58 mins
This June was much better than last June where I had so little training. I still had 4 nights up north with 4 kids (the gaps in training the 5th through the 9th), so that meant a hit to my strength time and biking time. But on another long weekend get-away, I still got in a long bike ride and then a decent long run a few weeks back.
Speaking of June 2025's crappy training, I've apparently had busy Junes with poor training. This year, I beat all my numbers from June of 2024 as well. And it was also much better overall than June of 2023.
Happy my run miles were back up over 100 miles since March, and thrilled with getting in 250+ bike miles!
The boys and I just got back into town after being at a national fencing tournament for 5 days, so I'm already calling it that July's numbers won't be STEALLAR. I'll work to make them DECENT, but they won't be amazing as I've already skipped 2 bike rides.
