Friday Funny 1862: Naming Snow Plows
>> Friday, December 25, 2020
Scotland had the general public name some of their snowplows, and this is what they came up with:
• Spready Mercury
• Snowbegone Kenobi
• Gritty Gritty Bang Bang
• Ready Spready Go
• David Plowie
• Roger Spreaderer
Bring Me the News shared some of the first suggestions here in MN, as anyone can submit a name for the next few weeks for our snowplows:
Right off the bat, Minnesota can steal from the Snowbegone Kenobi pun and go with its own "Snowbegone Trail," after the Wobegon Trail, of course.
Among the hilarious submissions tweeted to MnDOT are:
• Superspreader
• Ron Ploward
• Kent Brrrbek [after a MN Twins first basemen]
• Justin Moresnow [another MN Twin]
• Halloween Blizzard 1991
Other names we were able to fire off in a group chat (rather than actually working) are:
• Plow Bunyan
• Mississippi Shiver
• Slush Hartnett [actor Josh Harnett is from MN]
• Sleet Martha's ["Sweet Martha's" cookies are famous at the MN State Fair]
• SNOWVID-19
• Snowronavirus
• Duck, duck, gray truck [it's only "duck, duck, GOOSE" anywhere but MN]
• Tim Plowlenty [Tim Pawlenty is a former governor]
• Snow Mauer [Joe Mauer was a MN Twin]
• The Miracle on Ice
• Duck Duck Gray Truck
• Squall of America
• Har-Mar Scooper-Star [Har Mar Superstar is a singer from MN]
• Glare Walsh [Blair Walsh is a former MN Viking's kicker]
• Purple Reindeer [Prince reference]
• Bobsled Dylan
• Do Not Pass-ive Aggressive
• Stone Cold Steve Austin, Minnesota [Austin, MN is the home of Spam]
• Brock Sled-snar [Pro Wrestler and MMA fighter from MN]
Scotland also came up with a name for its entire fleet of plows, and the only obvious choice for MnDOT's fleet is clearly The Mighty Trucks.
Lots more funnies posted all day long on SportsAndLaughs.tumblr.com. Happy weekend and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
