If You're Doing (or THINKING About Doing) Trinona Triathlon, CHECK THIS OUT!

I interrupt my regularly scheduled "Friday Funnies" for a quick fun post about next weekend's triathlon...

Next weekend (June 11) is the Trinona Triathlon. And I'm heading down to race it again for the first time in a few years. I'm PUMPED. It's a great race! They have a fun new promotion they've asked me to announce, as well as a quick giveaway to participants!

Trinona was started by Dave Schutz, and then it became a Lifetime race for a few years. But now it's back to being Dave's race! (Lifetime is out.) They extended registration through Sunday AT NOON, so register now! They have the biggest cash purse in MN, and an option to win money for charities though their corporate relays. There's also the fun "race within the race" where the fastest biker to climb THEE bluff during the Olympic Distance race will will a "king of the bluff" jersey. It's am awesome race.

One of the local Winona businesses they teamed up with is Bloedow's Bakery, who's won lots of awards for their donuts. (Like "Best Donut Shop in MN" by WCCO a few years ago!)

I've got to stop in and try their goodies!

Well this year, if your official finishing time ends with "double donuts" (AKA :00), you will win a certificate and 2 of Bloedow's legendary donuts. It's the DOUBLE DONUT AWARD. That's a fantastic idea. I wonder if anyone will stall at the finish line to see if they can hit X:XX:00. Ha!

Also, Trinona asked me to to a quick giveaway to anyone who is registered. This is open to anyone who has registered, whether you registered in March or you just registered today. Trinona and Bloedow's wants to give you a donut stipend at bleodow's bakery and a swag package with pint glass, hat, and choice of t-shirt!

Say, for example, I get 30 tweets, I'll pick a number from 1-30 to choose a winner. I'll pick a winner sometime mid to late next week (around the 7th or 8th).

Pseudo-legal stuff:
- Contest only open to race registrants.
- You may tweet NOW through Tuesday, 6/6.
- The winner will be chosen at random by a random number generator or by drawing numbers out of a hat.
