Friday Funny 1601: A Robotic Running Partner

>> Friday, May 17, 2019

So there's this thing called "Rufus." It's basically a robot that you program to run in front of you.

So the benefit I can see here is that you can program it to go a specific speed, and then you can put forth the right amount of effort to keep up. But that's about the only benefit. (And one you can get from a treadmill.) It goes straight on it's own, but you have to steer it around. You have to worry about other people, pets, and curbs. It's basically a GPS guided missile leading you out on the running trails.

Here's an odd video about it:

Hey, you know what else works to roll in front of you? A jogging stroller. Try that one, people. My last 16+ miles have been with Charlie in a non-hands-free version of this lovely Rufus. And it has TWO water bottle holders, not just one. And a cute 5-year-old as well.
