Screw You, Daylight Savings Time
>> Thursday, November 06, 2008
Today, I got home from teaching, and headed out the door for a run. It was 5 pm. But it was already dark. Screw you, Daylight Savings Time. Here’s me ready to run wearing my reflective vest. All you can see are the reflective parts on the vest and on my shorts:
Two days ago, I had a dark interval run on the St. Thomas track. I did six 800s with 75 seconds of rest between them. I ran 2:45, 2:47, 2:47, 2:44, 2:43, and 2:40 for an average of 2:44.3 / 800. Not bad.
So:
1. Don’t forget to vote for me for the 2008 Endurance Blog of the Year
2. Check back in a few hours for a new Friday Funny
3. Scroll down to see some CRAZY costumes at the Monster Dash
4. And stop back Saturday to see what CRAZY COSTUME I'll have just worn in a 6.23 kilometer race.

I'm not a fan of DST either. I'm voting RIGHT now for your blog!
don't like it either. :( reflective clothing does make for funny pics though
I think you actually mean "screw you standard time" This kind of inaccuracy could cost you some votes.
How do you run in the dark without a headlamp?
I enjoy the dark track workouts. It's fun stuff. And nice splits on the 800's. You outta try them with slightly less rest (i.e. 20 seconds). It makes them not-so-slightly more painful. ;) I almost managed to puke a few weeks ago - I think you would have approved of the potential photo op.
Awesome splits though.
DST stinks! I miss summer...
Good job running in the dark!
When it gets dark early, I feel like my day goes too quickly. Not like I notice, cause I work in a windowless building until 11 pm.
that's pretty damn dark. good thing your vest works!!
It kind of looks like you're wearing a reflective vest and a mini-skirt...
...which just bought my vote. :)
The nice thing about this time of year in Arizona is that I can actually sleep in on the weekend and go out for a run without sweating my #$% off.
I feel you on coming home to darkness! It sucks.
Goodbye afterwork rides. Hello mindnumbing trainer workouts!
You're a teacher too???
i hate the darkness too... i am trying to make myself a morning runner to deal with it.
