Two Weeks of Training: a "Good" Week, and Now Injured

>> Monday, November 11, 2024

The TC 10 Mile was 5 weeks ago. After an easier week, then a smaller week on a trip to Yellowstone, I finally had a normal week a few weeks back. Then it got chilly: I had intervals on the treadmill 10 days ago, and then a long hard trainer ride the day after that. That week was a solid week!

But then this past week, some calf pain that has been around since a week after the TC 10 Mile came sneaking back in. It didn't feel great on Wednesday, didn't feel any better on Thursday, and then I cut my run on Friday short after just ONE MILE. And then I skipped my weekend bike workout. So the last 2 weeks looked like this:

A solid "normal" week, followed by a week that fizzled out.

I skipped my run today as well. I've been trying to massage it and roll it well these last few days. I dropped under 125K steps last week for the first time all 2024. And my "intensity minutes" show last week petering out at well:

A road-trip week, 2 solid weeks, and then last week ending with a whimper.

Shoot. Let's see if I can kick this leg / calf / achilles pain.
