October in Review

>> Wednesday, November 13, 2024

Here's a quick look at October's training:

SWIM: 10,800 yards
BIKE: 194.12 miles
TRAINER TIME: 3 hrs and 2 mins
(easy pre-race, "actual workout" the 26th, easy the 31st)
RUN: 100.60 miles
STRENGTH TIME: 37 hrs and 6 mins

Those are all decent, and nothing really stands out. Over 100 running miles is always great, 194 miles on the bike in Oct is really nice, swimming is fine, and strength time is low.

The 6th was a GOOD RACE at the TC 10 Mile (running a surprise sub-60!), and then I backed off a bit the next week (still getting in 95 miles of outside riding). Then I had some sharp calf/achilles pain on my long run on the 14th, and then we were in the car for 6 days on a road trip through Yellowstone. I noted in a post last week that my outdoor "training" riding has slowed down, but I'm still riding to-and-from work a few days a week, so trying to keep the "commuting" riding going.

My "badges" for the month were a bit incomplete as I missed a swim on the road trip, and my outdoor riding is slowing down (and also non-existent on that road trip):

But I DID walk a lot in October - note that the last quarter of 2024 (Oct-Dec) had a goal of walking 92 miles, but I covered those 92+ miles within the first month:

Time for a test... after some sharper calf pain over the last 7 days, I'm trying to run again this morning. Wish me luck!
