Winter FINALLY Came to MN

Thursday, we woke up to temps that were 10 to 15 degrees BELOW zero here in Minnesota. Add in the wind, and the windchill was 20 to 45 below zero!!....
And this guy (Justin Schuetz) decided to take his beard for an epic bike ride:
(The icy beard makes him look really old, but I'd guess he's around my age from the non-icy photos I've seen.)

Wow, I used to live in Fairbanks, Alaska and saw all kinds of snow beards, eyebrows, etc. since they regularly get to -40F (they have gone zero for only 33 hrs since Dec. 28).
But dude, I've never seen a frost buildup like that. AWESOME!! :) What is his secret?
Showed the picture to my (winter bike riding) husband, but now I'm afraid he's going to try to grow a beard!
