Still Running Easy After the TC 10 Mile

>> Saturday, October 18, 2025

Three weeks ago was the Fall Classic Duathlon, and then two weeks ago was the TC 10 Mile. My left calf was sore post-race, so I babied it.

Last year, I went out for a pretty normal harder long run 8 days post-race, and my calf wasn't ready - it was SORE, but I "worked through it" and then skipped a few runs in November because it still hadn't gotten any better.

This year, I've ONLY had easy runs since those races. And my "long run" 8 days after the TC 10 Mile was shorter and with MUCH LESS effort. Last year, I did 12 miles with the middle 7 harder. But this year, I only did 8 miles with the middle 3.5 or so being "moderate," not hard:

A weird "river loop."

Just picking up the pace a BIT and not going too hard miles 2.5-6.

That was Monday. On Wednesday's run, my calf felt about 99%!! I still took it easy on yesterday's run, and things are looking good! Maybe I'll finally have a "normal" long run on Monday for the first time in about 4 weeks (and just over 2 weeks after the TC 10 Mile).
