Tight Butt (not in a good way)

Welp, my left glute is a little upset. I might take a few days off from running to see if it helps. I hate starting the new year like that.
During my treadmill PR long run 2 weeks ago, I felt a slight "hang up" early on in that run in my left glute. Dr. Backus worked it out on Wednesday, and I had a very normal hard run on Friday. And I had good trainer workouts before and after that (on Thursday and Saturday). It felt normal through all of that!
Then RANDOMLY on Monday, I was 0.2 miles into my long run, and it felt sore suddenly. I stopped to stretch for a moment, but in the end, my 11+ mile long run ended up being 1.5 miles before I stopped. Dang.
I ran outside on Wednesday even though it still was mostly ice out there because it was 15 degrees. I thought maybe the identical and repeated footstrikes on the treadmill weren't helping things. But I got less than 3 miles in before my butt started to hurt again. I stopped at 3.34 miles. Dang again.
I saw Dr. Backus again on Wednesday afternoon, and dug in there a bit. We'll see how it feels shortly and maybe I'll test it on some shorter runs. Wish me luck!
