Biggest "Intensity Minutes" Day!

>> Thursday, July 17, 2025

Tuesday was a pretty normal training day, but it had lots of other bike rides, so my Garmin thought it was HUGE.

I first biked to the pool early, had a normal swim, and biked home. Totally normal.

Then I biked Henry to cross country practice, and then biked home.

Next, I dropped my car off at a body shop in the suburbs (as I was the victim of a hit-and-run last week), and then I biked back to Henry's CC practice to grab him and bike home.

Finally was a quick errand (by bike) to pick up some cat food. That was all by 11 a.m.!

I lifted weights in the afternoon. And later in the evening, Henry and I biked to his soccer game. By the time I got home, my "intensity minutes" for the day were 561!!

Monday and Tuesday of this week already had me at 899 intensity minutes! Those 2 days were about the same as 5 days in Hawaii seen on the far left of this chart:

That's a big spike for 2 days! Last week was pretty normal,
and the 2 before that were smaller as we were on vacation.

For some context, yesterday I ran and did legs exercises, and I hit 177 intensity minutes for the day. A good/normal daily amount is around 300 (a nice bike ride and lifting weights). I’ve hit 400 a few times - I had a big start to a week in March of 2024 where I had 779 intensity minutes after 2 days, but I had 120 more this week! (But I also noted that week had a big Wednesday, so I was over 1100 after Wednesday, whereas this week I'm just under 1100 through Wednesday.)

Now the week will ease up as I'm racing a 1-mile this weekend and want to hit if fully rested!
