4 Weeks = 400 Miles Biked!

>> Saturday, August 16, 2025

I know that's not much for some people. But that's big for me! I got my car back on Monday after taking it to the shop 4 weeks earlier because I was involved in a hit-and-run. Here's what the 4 car-less weeks looked like in my training log (biking is in GREEN):

That first week was even small because I had a race that weekend so I didn't bike much on Thursday and then skipped my Saturday ride. But that week started so big because I was dropping off my car and biking home from the body shop, as well as a lot more errands by bike.

The following week was nearly 104 miles, and it was bigger because of riding after the race instead of running.

The week of the 28th was 112+ miles...

... and the last full week was "up north" with family where I did lots of biking and logged 118+ miles (and crashed to end it!).

Finally, I biked to pick-up my car on Monday the 11th, so that was my nearly 14 mile ride that day.

So that lead to 340 biked miles in July, and 405.36 miles over the 4 weeks of not having a car!! I think I have to go back to the fall of 2005 (before I was into triathlons) to find a stretch of 400+ miles biked over 4 weeks!

Biking will take a bit of a back seat now as I put more emphasis on running as the TC 10 Mile closes in.
