14 Days of Nothing: Day 14: Mother Nature Can "Suck It"

I hate my life.

(I don't really hate my life. That was just for effect. I am pretty pissed-off, though. [OK, not really - it's still just for effect.])

Throughout these past "14 Days of Nothing," the weather has been great. Remember when I played with my cousins on Thanksgiving? That was 2 weeks ago. It was WARM and GREAT. As we played "FumbleROOski," we actually had to avoid muddy spots in the lawn:

Less than 48 hours ago, Mother Nature knew I was ready to quit my bout of nothingness, and she decided to piss me off. It started lightly snowing 2 days ago. When I opened my side door yesterday morning, I had a 14 inch drift telling me to stay in the house:

I'm not happy. I LOVE to run in cold weather, but running on uneven packed snow does a number on my feet. And we know my feet can't take much more abuse.

What horrible timing for our first big snowfall. I was about to start up again, and clean, clear sidewalks in December are a treat. But no such luck now.

After shoveling and snow-blowing for an hour yesterday, I let my feelings for Mother Nature show:

F@ck you, Mother Nature.

F@ck.
You.

  3. Trade you for a week! We have 40 degrees and not a snowflake in sight. I want some white stuff to get in the spirit of the season (and give me some excuses to miss workouts!)

  4. ROTFL!!!

There is a reason I live in Texas Steve. It is called heat. Our low this morning was 34* and not a flake in sight.

Bring Pharmie and you can come to my place and thaw out.

  7. HAHAHAHAH. For some reason this one made me laugh pretty hard. You know, sort of like America's Funniest Home videos when the dad gets hit in the crotch by the little kid's baseball bat.

Mother nature is the kid Steve, and she is batting the crap out of your giblets.

  14. Life is far too short to live in a frozen wasteland such as that.

  18. Steve-
Start trail running. It'll be much friendlier on the feet and VERY addicting...and if you continue to run (DAMN FAST) on the roads, you'll notice an improvement in times because of the trail time too!
Pharmie LOVED her first trail run at the Murph...you will too!

    Bummer about the snow

  20. The weather here is the same. It was really nice until a couple of days ago when BOOM- snow fell and the wind chills started. I have been extending that same finger to the weather as well.
    Good luck!
