Sunday afternoon, we got some heavy snow that froze overnight. It was great by Monday evening because the spring sun has power to get rid of that quickly, but overnight it was icy and horrible. So I ended March with a dang long run on the treadmill. Booooo.
I didn't feel great (maybe because it's beeen 3 BIG weeks), but I still wanted to push the effort. After 2.5 easier miles, I started my faster "pace miles" at 9.3 mph only to speed up by 0.1 mph every half mile. But I also sped up randomly 4 other times throughout those miles (before 1 mile, around 2.5 miles, 4.5 miles, and 5.6 miles) so I ended at 10.8 mph. My half mile splits looked like this:
3:13, 3:09, 3:07, 3:05, 3:03, 3:01, 2:57, 2:56, 2:53, 2:51, 2:49, 2:46
= 35:57 (5:59.50 average pace)
Can you spot in my pace or HR where I ran off the treadmill
for 90 secs to wake up my boys for school?!? Ha!
