I went hard for 20 miles, which was a bad idea, as the ride mainly starts by heading south and there was a strong wind from the south. So I knew my time wouldn't be great. But I could still suffer. And I ran into that construction which threw me for a loop.
I was at a 19.3 mph average around mile 13 when I turned around south of 494. Then I turned with the wind at my back, but still had that big climb to do on Big Rivers near 494 with about 5 miles left. I was able to raise my average to 20.2 mph by the time I was back on Water Street. Here's a map of my ride, and note that I accidently took a LAP on my Garmin instead of STOPPING my Garmin early on, so mile 20 was at split #5:
Finally WITH the wind from the southern-most point through split #5.
My speed shows nothing dramatic. Red arrow is hitting mile 20 and easing up.
(You can see the speed before that red arrow when I finally had the wind at my back!)
Heart rate. Again, the arrow shows when I let up.
