Sick Kitty

We had a sick kitty this morning. Our 14-year-old Ella was dripping light pink pee around the house, and she didn't seem to be herself. I took her to the animal hospital.

Chillin' by Daddy.

A special waiting area away from dogs. Such a nice idea!

Treats and bad teeth.

She crawled back into her carrier to get away from it all.

My wife first thought that it was a UTI, and the vet agreed. She's now on 2 pain killers and an antibiotic. She was obviously in so much pain after we got home - she wanted to sleep but couldn't. Finally, a few hours after starting her meds (and about 6 hours after heading to the vet), she fell asleep. Then she cleaned herself normally. Then she went downstairs for a snack. All good signs. Hopefully she's on the mend! We'd love for her to have a few more good years!

  1. I'm so glad y'all were able to catch it fast and get her on meds. My sweet kitty used to get bladder infections and after about 3 in a row when he was younger, he had to go on prescription food. He's been fine since, but now that he's 13 I watch him like a hawk for any unusual behavior so I can get him to the vet early if anything is going on. I think older cats can be with us a long time! It's just a matter of catching these little things so they don't turn into a bigger issue due to their age! So glad she's already feeling better!
