A few days ago, I did my final long run before the TC 10 Mile next weekend. I went 11.34 miles (with no stroller) with the middle 6 harder. IT'S FUNNY HOW I'M *HARDLY* ANY FASTER WITHOUT THE STROLLER! Let's compare these last 2 final long runs:
- 10.76 miles WITH the stroller, 6:51 overall pace, 6:26 pace for the middle 5.14 miles.
- 11.34 miles withOUT the stroller, 6:54 overall pace, 6:19 pace for the middle 6.0 miles.
I've often told people that I really don't know how much the stroller slows me down, and that I really don't think it slows me down THAT much. I mean, there's not much of a difference in pace in these 2 long runs, but there WAS a difference of 100+ lbs. (Well, my more recent longer run was hillier, but it was also cooler - my run with the boys had a good chunk of it down the pancake flat Greenway Trail, and my more recent run was all along gently rolling River Road and back.)
Well, the training is in the bag. Time to see what I can do next weekend!!
