Sister Madonna Buder: The Iron Nun
86-year-old Sister Madonna Buder is awesome. You've maybe seen her name in running or triathlon magazines for years. Here she is in a Nike commercial that aired during the Olympics:
I was in 2010 Ironman Canada with her, though I didn't see her on the course. I watched her finish the year before, just before the cutoff. The crowd was going absolutely bananas! There's lots of workouts I've gutted through, thinking if an 80 year old nun can do it, I can hang in a little longer. She is amazing!
