• Date: workout, times. Workout notes (no longer than 10 words). [PHOTO]

• Sun, 2/14: 10.05 mile long run in 1:09:46 (6:56 / mile pace). Pushed hard for the middle miles. Decent workout.

Wind-burned belly post-workout

• Fri, 2/19: One and a half hours of snowshoeing next to Pharmie as she skied. Just a fun "date." This one calls for 2 photos:

Pharmie skiing with Downtown Minneapolis in the distance.

Skis and snowshoes after an hour and a half.

p.s. That rant about Jen Harrison is all in good fun. I love that women. And I love Julia for telling us when she swims so we can join her. But I hate Jen's workouts that she makes Julia do. What do I look like? A swimmer? Hell no. ;)

  1. Hmmm....I BET your swimming will get better this year if you did JUST one of my swim workouts per week. That is a bet. And, you can be a swimmer if you want to. And, my theory: If you are going to swim, SHOW UP and swim. None of this pussy-footing around how to really workout in the pool.

    :)

And, a proper warmup is an excellent idea! lol

  3. I find it strangely comforting to see that other people actually do get goggle eyes. I seem to always be the only one who does....

Great pics and love the Lyin' King poster.

  5. So, whenever people mentioned you in their posts, for some reason I thought that you were from California or somewhere else. I love that you are from the cities- makes me feel back at home. I went to U of MN for undergrad and just graduated in May and now am in Florida for grad school, but I miss the cities every single day (except the snow). Love the picture of Pharmie with the skyline in the background!

  6. Holy shit. I read about you people and your white stuff and I know that it snows and all but really, it never really hit home until I saw Pharmie on skis right where you live! I've not experienced snow outside a ski resort we had to drive many hours to get to. It just isn't in my comprehension to have snow in a place you live. That photo of Pharmie really brought it home. you do snow day in and day out. what a concept! It is totally blowing my mind (especially since it was 90F/32C here today).

  8. Ok, I about peed my pants when I scrolled down over the Nunchucks photo. My husband was asking me what was up.

Yes, I am also glad that I am not the only one with unsightly goggle rims around my eyes after I finish a swim.

  10. I loved the Berenstain Bears! I don't remember that book at all. The titles is followed by that "First Time" Book seal--it's too much. My childhood is now ruined!
