I Think It Was Meatloaf Who Said...

“...2 outta 3 ain’t bad.”

In my post this morning, I said that Matt and I (Team Happy Pants) wanted to do 3 things at the Gear West Duathlon today:

1. Take nearly 3 minutes off our time from last year.
2. Beat the team course record.
3. Win the team competition.

So......

1. We bettered our time from last year by 3:14!!
2. We beat the old team course record time by 0:51!
3. BUT there was another team that soundly beat us. D’oh.

Me heading to the finish

My full race report will be up tomorrow! Pharmie came along and snapped a bunch of fun photos! And we got to talk to a few old racing buddies, and we also met some old blogger buddies who we’d never met face-to-face before!! Sure, we didn’t win, but we still had a GREAT day!

Back with more photos tomorrow! Have a good rest of your weekend! (Back to grading final projects for me...)

  7. 2/3 is only a 67%.

    What a bunch of losers.

    :)

Figured you needed a little ego deflation.

  8. Technically, it's 66.6%. Oh wait... more ego deflation...

  9. Congrats! You achieved the two goals which you could control; You cannot do anything about the times of others in the competition..well...at least not legally you can't. ;-)

  10. That was a pretty sweet list of goals so two out of three is super. (And you can take those other guys down next year.) Yay Team Happy Pants!

  11. Hey, it is all about who shows up to the race that day. You should feel good that you beat your time from last year after Matt's crash.

I am in awe that you are all still in warm jackets and stuff. It is so hot here in Texas. We had a cold front run through yesterday and drop the temps into the 60's. It is back up in the 80's today.

  14. That's the thing about racing - you can't do anything about your competition. All you can do is race to your potential. Great job beating your previous time and the old course record. That's pretty awesome!
