I just got back from the “Lace Up Against Breast Cancer Half-Marathon” in Rochester, MN,
and I brought a PR with me. After the finish, they announced that the course was more like
13.4 miles! So I PRed even though I had to go 0.3 miles too far!!
Here I am about 2 minutes after finishing:
(Yes, that's snot on my black collar to the left. And yes, that's more snot on my hoodie near the lower-right. I was full of snot. Sorry for being real. Whadda gonna do about it? Ha!)
Back with a full report (and pictures) tomorrow...
Congrats on the PR, never doubted it for a minute!
ReplyDeletewhoo hoo! I knew you would! Congrats :o)

ReplyDeleteHey, I voted for you! Good job, Mr. Mayor! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood job!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are gross.
SWEET JOB!!
ReplyDeleteDayum son, you needed to blow that snot all over another runner. Not yourself :P
That's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteA triumph! You look barely even winded, like you just got back from a little post prandial stroll.
ReplyDeleteI like you REAL, and so do all BLOGGERS OF TASTE, I'm sure.
Speaking of REAL....
It's time for a GROSS FOOT PHOTO....
Just to prove you really went, right? (You must have some really "tasty" fresh blisters!)
Congrats! That is awesome! Yeah snot :)
ReplyDeleteKudos...can't wait for the race report and pics!
ReplyDeleteThis was a roller coaster of emotions for me reading this. It started with "Yeah!! Good for him" - followed quickly with "SICK!!! I didn't need to know about that"
ReplyDeleteYAY! Way to go... can't wait for the report and pictures (hopefully some without snot, but we understand if that's not possible!)
ReplyDeleteNice work!! So, what are they going to do about the extra distance? Was it an official race?
ReplyDeleteI remember 4 or 5 years ago, there was a quick loop in the KC Marathon that was left off because of a gate closed. Turned out the marathon was only 25.8 miles or something... They had this crazy formula for people trying to qualify for boston. I would have been PISSED.
WAHOO! Congratulations, especially with the extended course! (what's up with that anyway?!)
ReplyDeleteWouldn't even have noticed the SNOT had you not pointed it out! Thanks.
ReplyDeletecongrats on the pr! thanks for pointing out the snot... don't know how i would've survived without that morsel of information.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job on the PR!!! Looking forward to the report.

ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is awesome! Did I read this wrong or did you not post the time?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the snotilicious PR :)
ReplyDeleteI shook my Magic 8 Ball and asked if you were going to get a PR and it answered back, "IT IS PROBABLE".
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and I will be looking for the race report tomorrow.
I'd vote for your over Mayor McCheese any day of the week.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!
Way to go Steve! Nice work on the PR (and the snottage)!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job on the PR! Who out there doesn't have a little extra snot during the winter months...
ReplyDeleteGreat job! PRs are always fun - and slightly painful. One piece of advice - do not become a food stylist. That pic of the chili looks disgusting (but I bet it tasted good.) I love the fact that you run as fast as you do with a gray cotton hoodie. Now, go relax a little bit.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on keeping up the gross factor.
