Welcome to “PR City.” I’m Steve, Your Mayor.

I just got back from the “Lace Up Against Breast Cancer Half-Marathon” in Rochester, MN, and I brought a PR with me. After the finish, they announced that the course was more like 13.4 miles! So I PRed even though I had to go 0.3 miles too far!!

Here I am about 2 minutes after finishing:

(Yes, that's snot on my black collar to the left. And yes, that's more snot on my hoodie near the lower-right. I was full of snot. Sorry for being real. Whadda gonna do about it? Ha!)

Back with a full report (and pictures) tomorrow...

  10. A triumph! You look barely even winded, like you just got back from a little post prandial stroll.

I like you REAL, and so do all BLOGGERS OF TASTE, I'm sure.

    Speaking of REAL....

It's time for a GROSS FOOT PHOTO....

Just to prove you really went, right? (You must have some really "tasty" fresh blisters!)

  13. This was a roller coaster of emotions for me reading this. It started with "Yeah!! Good for him" - followed quickly with "SICK!!! I didn't need to know about that"

  15. Nice work!! So, what are they going to do about the extra distance? Was it an official race?

I remember 4 or 5 years ago, there was a quick loop in the KC Marathon that was left off because of a gate closed. Turned out the marathon was only 25.8 miles or something... They had this crazy formula for people trying to qualify for boston. I would have been PISSED.

  28. Great job! PRs are always fun - and slightly painful. One piece of advice - do not become a food stylist. That pic of the chili looks disgusting (but I bet it tasted good.) I love the fact that you run as fast as you do with a gray cotton hoodie. Now, go relax a little bit.
