Lookin’ Beefy

Here are some official photos from the St. Croix Sprint Triathlon that I did a few days ago. For the most part, I look pretty good (at least parts of me), which is rare for me during an event. I usually look angry, drunk, flabby, or constipated. This is relatively unparalleled.

Exiting the water (my arms look good)

Looks like I’m trying not to pee

Not me, but possibly the worst event photo ever

Fighting the sun, not looking pretty...

...but at least I don’t look as bad as this guy.
Is he pooping while having a seizure?

Finishing the 4 mile run in 25:08

Biceps and man-boobs working hard

I’ve been hitting the weights with extra vigor over the past 9 months, and it’s starting to show. And recently, Phamie’s been talking about how much she likes my tummy. Sweet!

When I got home after the tri, I had a quality meal of Sixlets and Burritos:

Remember, only 5 days until the Half IM where I will run dressed as the Grim Reaper! And good luck to those of you doing IM WI on that same day!!

  3. You look great, though I have to admit I think it'll be even cooler to see you dressed as the grim reaper and still racing!

  4. Do you have reflectors on your bike?

  5. I think the 3rd photo of that other guy in a wetsuit looks like an alien.

Good luck this weekend! Your blog is hysterical! I've been following it for a while.

  6. No, this is the worst event photo ever. The only reason I know it even exists is because my tri club did this race and we all had a good chuckle over it.

  13. Is that the travelocity gnome coming out of the water?

That dude on the bike looks like he is trying to hold back a big one

  14. best wishes on the 1/2 IM! Bring on the reaper!

    ReplyDelete
  15. LOL!!! That worst photo ever is classic. Is it proof that aliens exist?

It kinda looks like what I was seeing out of my snot covered glasses on the run this past weekend.

  16. Those Grim Reaper pics might top the pics from the race...but it will definitely be tough. Those are some great shots!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Even the guy having a seizure looks better than me in most of my action shots

    ReplyDelete
  18. Are you sure that's you?!
25 min 4 mile run? WOW!
BTW, quit calling me MOM!!! I know I'm old but.....

  21. Much better than the last pic of you exiting the water. That was a bad one. Hmmmm, David Hasselhoff is that you?

  22. Looks good! Yuck to the burritos though. I don't know how you contain that mess on a run. Have fun this weekend!

  23. mmm.... sixlets... I haven't had those since elementary school!

You look great, especially compared to those other two less than stellar boys! :) Can't wait to see the reaper in action.

  24. I always take the WORST photos during triathlons! Great race! Good luck in your 1/2, that will be awesome, and that food, I'm sorry but all I can think is stomach ache!!

  25. Good luck in your 1/2 Sunday...I'll be thinking about ya out there running in that Grim Reaper outfit. Stay hydrated!

Knowing you are going to post pics of that outfit, it will make me race faster in IM WI just to get back home to check them out on your blog.

    Go rock the 1/2!

p.s. just in case you get hot and have to peel off the death suit, shouldn't you have a back up 'outfit' underneath. I say a sports bra and tight shorts, with the thick scrunched up aerobic socks and the high top Reeboks with velco. Shoot - get some leg warmers like Jane Fonda.

    Have FUN!

    ReplyDelete
  33. That 'worst photo ever' is obviously a cross of Sasquatch & Loch Ness monster photos.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Good luck at the half IM! I would comment on your physique, but I'm just not that comfortable giving other guys compliments. I'm sure you'll understand.

    ReplyDelete

  40. Great race pics! I'd say something about your plastic wrapped burritos and sixlets but I'd leave myself open to return comments about my microwave mac n'cheese and lemonheads - so to each his (or her) own recovery meal, eh?

  43. Good luck on your Half IM. I would love to be able to do one someday.

My race pics always turn out like the guy who looks like he is pooping...for some reason running and photos just don't mix well for me.

  52. Great pictures. And the funny ones you found are hilarious!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Pictures are GREAT! But, the reason I just HAD to write in, is because I LOVE, LOVE sixlets and the only place I can find them here at home is in the old country store that has the pails and pails of buckets of different candy, you can pile together. We went there about 2 wks ago and I specifically went there looking for sixlets. No joy. They were OUT! They suck.
