So... I'll hope for hot weather, expect you to start slow and I'll make sure to crush you on the hills at the end (assuming I'm in shape and not injured, which seems unlikely).SteveQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16943650844671498074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29677084.post-26945307240313222012-08-30T10:05:20.144-05:002012-08-30T10:05:20.144-05:00Yeah Mike, it's good to keep track of those th...Yeah Mike, it's good to keep track of those things to see how you can improve!

But one thing I didn't mention in the post is that we don't need to do this ALL the time - this would get really frustrating if every race was simply a way to crunch the numbers. It's good to try now-and-then with similar races, but I don't want anyone getting discouraged by always doing this.

Good luck on the bike, Mike!Steve Stenzelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11419298404210612118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29677084.post-40976080052007300592012-08-30T09:30:50.789-05:002012-08-30T09:30:50.789-05:00I haven't done enough races to be able to comp...I haven't done enough races to be able to compare them like this, but I've been keeping mental notes on my bike average speed lately to try to figure out my best pace. I have a tendency to go at my top speed whenever there's an open stretch of road. Inevitably I run out of gas and a few miles later I'm going under my average speed. I'm trying to really watch my speedometer and stay at my average, that seems to be the best way to use my energy.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09577823752322832736noreply@blogger.com
