Anyway, looks like they got new equipment at the park since I was a kid. Good thing, their old stuff was wood and a splinter haven. I suffered many childhood tears thanks to that old equipment. Did you know that park was named Maddox for the school that used to stand there? If the sign is still there that states the park's name (it used to be on the James Aveune side of the park), there may be the "Maddox School" cement slab in the grass just below the sign. Fun fact - when the school building was torn down, since they didn't really recycle in the 80s, my dad salvaged some junk out of their dumpster. We actually had a bar in the basement of our house that was topped with a piece of marble that came from somewhere in the building.
