Sorry I’ve been a bad blogger, as I’ve been unable to swing by anyone’s blog for the past week.
That’s because Pharmie and I just got back from Cozumel!! My last week of posts were all written up over a week ago and set up publish automatically (so no one would suspect anything and try to rob our house - yep, we’re paranoid like that).
I think we picked a good week to be gone. Last night (Friday) on the local news, we heard that here in the Twin Cities, it had JUST climbed
above 0 for the first time since Monday!! And we wanted to complain because it rained in paradise for 2 days...
I won’t bore you with too many photos, but here are a few fun ones. (If you want to see 60 photos of us having a great time in Cozumel,
First of all, as the title of this post suggests, here are 3 shots of us underwater. This one is from our snorkeling excursion...
...and these 2 are from Pharmie and I just bumming around the resort:
We spent 2.5 hours one day walking up and down the beach:
Exploring San Gervasio Ruins, Pharmie found a big tree growing out of a shallow cave...
...and I found a sombrero and a ukulele.
I found out that I LOVED Mojitos...
...and that parrots named Pepe LOVE to bite my shoulder.
We played “Beach Games” one day, and our team won (thanks to a clutch performance by Pharmie and I as the last 2 legs of the “Dizzy Lizzy” relay). But the first event got us COMPLETELY covered in flour. When we tried to wash it out, it just turned into paste. Pharmie never got her suit fully clean after this:
And I was pulling paste off my chest hair for HOURS:
In closing, I’ll leave you with 5 purdy pictures from our trip:

Driftwood and Conch Shells at Sunset

Plants Growing Out of the Rocky Cliff

Waves Breaking on the SE Side of the Island

The Arch at San Gervasio Ruins

An Ancient Stone Road at San Gervasio Ruins
Again, if you want to see all 60 photos,
click here to check them out. I’ll be back to catch-up on blogs tomorrow. And I’ll post some photos and stories of our workouts on Cozumel shortly (we were able to work up a good sweat running outside!). Right now, I’m off to celebrate my nephew’s first birthday!
Love how Pharmie is wearing an Ironman hat in the foto on your FB page (I had no idea by the way you could link them like that, very cool). She is way more cool than me, I was too scared to even wear my Lifesport visor in CR.
ReplyDeleteThanks a heap for posting all the fotos, fun! fun! fun!
Hope you guys get some out door running in this weekend!
gawd steve, rub it in. rub it in. no vacation for me this year. boo. glad you had a good time. hope you guys got lots of rest and relaxation....
ReplyDeleteYou picked a GREAT time to ditch winter. Looks like a fantastic trip!
ReplyDeleteWow... yeah, we were suffering here with this nasty cold weather. Glad to hear you guys picked a good time to disappear! The pictures are great!
ReplyDeleteEveryone does this "post while you're away" bit. How? HOWWWWWWWW?
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! Looks like a great time. :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos! You both deserved a great vacation.
ReplyDeleteSo what's it like to have weather above negative numbers?? You sure picked the perfect week to be gone from the frozen tundra we call the midwest! Welcome back to hell!!!
ReplyDeleteI am only a little jealous. ;-) Sorry about the rain, but it looks like it didn't slow you down.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to spend part of the winter. Welcome back to the freezer!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a wonderful time. How relaxing. Happy birthday to your nephew.
ReplyDeleteA getaway would be nice. Great photos. Welcome back to better weather.

WOOHOO!!!!
Guess what? I ran a 10 miler today!!!!
Welcome back! Looks like you guys had a great time in Cozumel!! (look like a good place to an IM??)
ReplyDeleteWHAT??? You'd rather be in warm Cozumel swimming in the ocean and playing on the beach than in Northfield, MN, to cheer me on?
ReplyDeleteJust kidding! Looks like a very fun trip. If where I lived had cold winters like you have, I'd be looking for an excuse to go someplace else pretty much all winter. Glad you guys had a chance to escape all that snow and ice if just for a week!
I am beyond jealous! Looks like you guys had a great time. Nice photos.
ReplyDeleteThat place looks phenomenal! Looks like you had a great time, and what perfect timing for your little escape!
ReplyDeleteDang it! I was happy with a quick trip to San Diego, but Cozumel trumps SD any day! Did you happen to go to CHANKANAAB park? Maybe do a little reconnoissance for those of us who will be there in November for IMCoz?? jealous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip! I'm so jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are great! Looks like a great trip! I might have to look into going there for my next vacation!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun trip and I bet it was great to be where you don't have to wear a coat/hat/mittens/longjohns/boots/gitors...
ReplyDeleteI was one of the millions of Minnesotans stuck HERE during the rotten cold week.
Happy birthday to your nephew
Cozumel?....F**ker....
ReplyDeleteSpectacular photos! Looks like you had some great (and WARM) R&R!!!! Thanks for sharing (and rubbing it in about the trip; not for the warmth though - it's 80-degrees 'here' today!!!)
ReplyDeleteThat looks killer. I'll try a mojito!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteSwimsuits? Ocean? SUNSHINE?? I think my head just exploded. Thanks a lot Steve.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you two had a great time!
Wow! Cozumel? Really? You just stabbed me in the heart with a spoon lol. I hope you had fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you two had a lot of fun! Great pics.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! Absolutely gorgeous! I have found that, like Pharmie, it is very helpful to take a real photographer on vacation. You get great shots like those! I love the birds and the iguana, but the hammock shots win for the cute factor. :o)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you guys had a great time and you deserve it living in the frozen tundra of Minnesota.
yay for vacations! boo for coming back to snow and cold! looks like you and pharmie had a fabo time!
ReplyDeleteOoooh that looks awesome. You picked a great time to be gone from MN!
ReplyDeleteFUN FUN!!! Love the sombrero pic :)

ReplyDeleteI think my favorite is the look on your face in the mojito shot...you definitely look like you be lovin' that mojito! :)
Can wait to hear about the workouts!
I'm with Greyt Times. We needed to know you were going so we could ask you to do Ironman Cozumel course recon. Arn't mojitos the BOMB!

Looks like you had a super fun time! Loved the pics!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great vacation
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing and I think you picked a great week to go!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous pics. I have controlled the jealousy emotion and jumped right to anger. Thanks for not inviting me. And yes, mojitos are a most deeeelicious tropical drink.

ReplyDeleteloved the pics steve. glad you had so much fun! :)
ReplyDeletewell i cant say that i'm not hurt that you werent in the midwest to suffer with the rest of us...but i guess that can be forgiven due to the great pictures. welcome back...you didnt by chance bring warm weather with you, did you?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Glad you two got to go somewhere WARM!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! We're going to North Eleuthera (Bahamas) in 2 weeks for a 3 day weekend and I can't wait! I think I might be most excited about the idea of an open water swim in February!
ReplyDeleteAh, now I remember what sunlight looks like.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great trip! Fantastic photos.
