Promoting ZapEvent for a Friend

>> Thursday, January 07, 2010

Kris is a local "racing buddy" of mine. She did both "Splash and Dash" events with me this past year. Here she is in the purple:

Why do I look like a giant compared to everyone in this image?...

And she's the one that finished the Chisago Lakes Half Ironman hand-in-hand with her boyfriend Mark:

Anyway, she just took a new job at ZapEvent (an online event registration company), and she'd like to make sure you all know about them and what they can do for you.

Kris was working part time for a charity foundation that was using ZapEvent for their fundraising events. Through that, she got to know the owner, Jeff Wedren. He had a need for an Administrative Assistant and Kris had a need for a full time job. :) So even before being hired there, Kris knew and believed in the ZapEvent system and appreciated the personalized attention that they (and now Kris) give to their customers. (Kris also still works as the Regional Assistant for the USAT Midwest Board of Directors on the side.)

Here's some info about ZapEvent that Kris sent me:

Many people in the race community have likely registered for an event on our system, especially here in Mpls area. To name a few recognizable events - Wells Fargo Half Marathon, Lake Minnetonka Triathlon, Trinona; along with many ski events in the winter - City of Lakes Loppet, TC Championships, Skinny Santa Solstice Ski, etc.

Here are some good points about ZapEvent:

• Lower than competition | 2.9% plus $1 per registration and 30¢ per order
• Staff dedicated to quick efficient customer service
• We never sell your information or use it for marketing purposes
• No fees whatsoever | We setup your first event free
• Free customized live training - by Kris!
• Intuitive admin interface | No 'IT guy' required
• No outside advertisements for magazines or memberships to your customers
• It’s your data so you have 100% access | Custom reports upon request
• Built-in flexibility allows you to create your event your way

If people want to sign up for an account with us, they simply fill out the account form you can find off our main page and then they will work with me to setup their event(s) and I will do training with them on how to manage the event info, print reports, add promo codes, etc. We also do promote the events that have accounts with us through our Twitter and Facebook accounts. I manage 90% of that activity as well.

We also are currently taking resumes for part-time/full-time sales folks.

(BTW, Here's a link to the Facebook note that has the job description.)

Anyway, I just wanted to spread the news of what ZapEvent can do for you. Use them (and Kris) if you can!!
