800 Repeats

>> Friday, May 08, 2009

Just a quick note regarding my 800s on the track last night. I got down there late, and decided to do 800s because I had only been doing 1600s all winter, and it was time to do something shorter and quicker.

So the workout was six 800s with 90 seconds rest.

2:40 (1:20 + 1:20)
2:38 (1:18 + 1:20)
2:36 (1:17 + 1:19)
2:37 (1:18 + 1:19)
2:36 (1:17 + 1:19)
2:34 (1:16 + 1:18)

2:36.8 average

About a year ago, I ran seven 800s with an average of 2:46. So I’m doing OK this year. Let’s keep this up! Back with a Friday Funny shortly, but now, back to grading. Yay.

How did you determine the appropriate pace for your 800's?

Great job! 800s are my favorite workout... they're so hard but so fabulous.

Good repeats -- great pace! And, way outta' my league. Last track intervals I did were 4 x 800 @ 3:20 w/400 jog between, sandwiched by 1.8 easy miles to/from the track.
